Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

Calvert Internal Medicine Group is seeking a full time Certified Medical Assistant. Must have experience in performing vitals, venipunctures, and injections. Superior organizational and communication skills essential. MEDENT experience preferred but not required. Candidate must be able to travel to multiple offices. Medical Technologist

Calvert Internal Medicine is looking for a part-time CLS Or MLS to work in our Prince Frederick Office Laboratory at least one day a week. A BS CLS/MLS with certification by ASCP is required. A minimum of 2 years of experience as a generalist is preferred. This position will include a rotating half-day on Saturdays.

Essential Position Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Handles all specimens according to procedure manuals and place them in the proper location for tests to be performed in our laboratory and those which are sent to reference laboratories.
  • Analyzes laboratory specimens in a manner that is consistent with and complies with laboratory procedures on a stat, routine, pre-op and daily basis following departmental procedures.
  • Performs quality control and/or quality assurance on all testing procedures before reporting patient results, including daily start-up and shutdown of equipment as per established schedule, and records results on the appropriate designated forms.
  • Demonstrates continuing proficiency performing assigned proficiency samples.
  • Maintains all laboratory supplies, reagents, and disposables in the work area by rotating stock and notifying the Laboratory Supervisor of shortages
  • Cleans work area daily and disposes of waste materials according to established policy.
  • Report stat laboratory reports to the appropriate provider and informs the provider of “alert value” reports as well as all other patient results as they are completed.
  • Performs, reports, and trains staff on all office point of care testing.
  • Performs phlebotomy assistance as required.
  • Answers phone calls and assists internal customers as needed.
  • Complies with OSHA standards.

Experience:

  • Clinical laboratory: 2 years (Required)

Experience:

  • MLT certification with ASCP (Required)

The hourly salary range is competitive & commensurate with experience, offering between $25 and $35, depending on qualifications & expertise.
